As an expert in astronomy, I can tell you that the term "star" when used to describe astronomical bodies, does not refer to their shape but rather to their nature as massive, luminous spheres of plasma held together by gravity. Stars, like our Sun, are not shaped like the popular five-pointed or six-pointed star symbols often used in various contexts on Earth. Instead, they are spherical in shape due to the forces acting upon them.

Stars are NOT Star-shaped either! Somehow, a long time ago, people started drawing shapes with five or six (or more) points to represent stars. They probably drew them this way because stars look kind of "pointy" or twinkly to our eyes. ... But stars are really spherical like our own star, the Sun.
